Residents and visitors to Atlanta are offered a variety of choices for their holiday shopping. Nearby shopping is available in each area of the metro, but some places are worth the drive across town to explore. Here are some of Atlanta’s favorite places for holiday shopping.
The Buckhead area offers lots of great shopping choices. Lenox Mall is a favorite for many people. The anchor stores at the mall are Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and Atlanta’s only Neiman Marcus store. Atop the Macy’s store is the Great Tree, one of the largest tree displays in the city. Lenox Mall is also the place for children to ride Priscilla the Pink Pig. This pint-sized monorail has been an Atlanta holiday tradition for more than 50 years. A portion of the proceeds benefits Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. Across Peachtree Street from Lennox is Phipps Plaza, the Southeast’s premier upscale shopping center. Phipps has Nordstrom, Belk, and Saks Fifth Avenue department stores and specialty stores such as Gucci, Armani, Versace, and Tiffany & Co 레플리카.
North of downtown Atlanta in Dunwoody is Perimeter Mall. This suburban shopping mall contains Macy’s, Dillard’s, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom, as well as many smaller specialty stores. Perimeter Mall offers a special “Storytime with Mrs. Claus” while children are waiting their turn to visit Santa this year. A little farther north in Alpharetta is North Point Mall. At this mall children may ride the beautiful carousel and visit Atlanta’s only location of the American Girl Boutique and Bistro. This very popular store features all the dolls, books, and accessories for the American Girl brand.
On the northeast side of the metro in Lawrenceville is Discover Mills. Notable stores here are the outlets Last Call by Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th. Both stores offer designer merchandise at significantly discounted prices. Men will especially enjoy the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World at Discover Mills.
A favorite shopping destination in Midtown Atlanta is Atlantic Station. This area features Dillard’s, IKEA, and many specialty shops and restaurants. During the holidays over 250,000 lights will illuminate the entire eight block area. Young visitors will enjoy riding the Steel Mill Express Children’s Train every weekend from November 20 to December 19. Artisans will display handcrafted items for sale in the open air “Holiday Shops”. Visitors to Atlantic Station will enjoy realistic snowfall around the Grand Christmas Tree Monday through Thursday at 7:30pm, hourly on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9pm, and Sundays until 6pm.
